# Staff

Create and update staff members and their ID document files.

## Create Staff Member

 - [POST /api/external/staff](https://developer.fl3xx.com/reference/staff/poststaff.md): Creates a staff member in the operator account of the token.

firstName and lastName are required. When an externalReference is sent it must not be used by another user yet, otherwise the call returns 409. ID documents sent in idDocuments are created together with the staff member.

## Update Staff Member

 - [PATCH /api/external/staff/{reference}](https://developer.fl3xx.com/reference/staff/patchstaff.md): Updates a staff member. The reference is the FL3XX ID of the staff member or its externalReference. A numeric reference is looked up as an ID first and then as an externalReference.

Send only the fields to change.

## Upload ID Document File

 - [POST /api/external/staff/{reference}/id-cards/{userCardId}/documents](https://developer.fl3xx.com/reference/staff/poststaffidcarddocument.md): Uploads a file and attaches it to an ID document (passport, ID card, visa and similar) of a staff member.

The reference is the FL3XX ID or externalReference of the staff member. userCardId is the numeric FL3XX ID of the ID document. The ID document must exist, must not be deleted and must belong to that staff member.
